Building MLM Downlines on Autopilot |

Before the web came to our aid, building mlm downlines was hard, hard work. If you were blessed with an ultra-thick skin, boundless enthusiasm and a pristine self image, you could carry it off and build it big. For the rest of us, prospecting for distributors tended to follow this depressing formula: 1. Contacting a ‘good’ prospect. (Someone with their own teeth, no facial tattooes or fierce dog) 2. Showing them (and their partner, if you wanted your chances to grow from 0% to 1%) the business plan. 3. Getting them motivated talking about the kidney-shaped swimming pool they were going to own. Seeing their eyes light up in wonder at what life could be like. 4. Getting your follow up materials stuffed through your front door with a note saying ‘we changed our minds’. 5. Said prospect crossing the road to avoid talking to you. 6. Upline saying ‘NEXT’ very bullishly. Any of that ring any bells?! Now, building MLM downlines ‘on autopilot’ does not mean we never speak to prospects. Far from it. The important thing is, if we set up a marketing funnel in the way I’m going to explain, then the only prospects we’ll every speak to are hugely qualified to earn our help. They’ve chased us. Not the other way around. The fact that we know someone or inhabit an office with them does not make them a strong prospect. A real prospect is someone who comes looking for you. Do doctors and dentists approach people in the street to ask if they need help? How professional would that look? Building MLM downlines via warm or cold market prospecting (unless done by an expert) comes across in the same way. Desperate. What we need to do is put out many ‘fishing poles’ online, to capture names and e-mail addresses of existing network marketers. People who are already in the business have at least bought the concept and have invested money to make it happen. That puts them way above tyrekicking people who haven’t paid a dime on a home-based business. We need to put up a number of gateway pages on the net, providing quality MLM content for free in return for name and e-mail address We then need to support these people with tips and resources that will genuinely help them in the opportunity they’re in now. These days people jump between opportunities a lot. Our autoresponder list will be our biggest asset – a list of ambitious networkers who – like you – want to build mlm downlines in the most profitable means. Keep driving traffic to these pages, via pay-per-click, social media, giveaway events, forum posting, blog posting and safelising. That’s a start anyway. Then in the fullness of time you can offer your mlm business – not to Mickey in the post room – but to your list of valid mlm prospects. If they don’t join up, they are still prospects for your free and your paid e-mail offers. |
