Fitting Everything You Want in Your Letterheads

Having trouble fitting everything you want when you print letterheads? Do not worry, it is not the end of the world when this happens. There are a few simple letterhead printing tricks that you can put into play to fit that content in. Let me tell you about five professional letterhead printing tips that can help you do this easily.

1. Eliminating non-essential elements – The first step in trying to fit content in your color letterheads is to eliminate all the non-essential elements. You may think that everything you want in your letterhead is important, but sometimes, you really need to cut back on things that you may not need.

For example, you may not need to put all the contact numbers for business letterhead. Only the main one should suffice. Also, you may want to cut long winded titles in favour of more simple indicators when possible. Finally, you might probably want to remove some extra design elements such as borders, dividers and small symbols to clear out more space for your content.

2. Combining image elements – Another good tip I can give you for your color letterheads is to combine image elements together so that they take up less space. For example, the company logo and the project symbol of certain letterheads can easily be merged with one symbol slightly overlapping the other. This helps you place two logos for the cost of one logo space only. Of course, the overlapping design will change depending on your images, but the concept should be pretty useful especially if your letterhead is sporting several logos and important images that you simply can’t eliminate.

3. Adjusting font sizes – Now, when dealing with the text itself for your color letterheads, you should try to manage the font sizes effectively so that you can really fit everything you need. Print your main title of your letterhead in large format, while all the others should be as small as you can print them to be. Remember that you can actually specify size values directly in most desktop publishing applications without having to resort from a size list. So instead of choosing from different size point choices, (12,14,16) you might want to enter your own specific values such as 12.5. This can easily help you manage the size of your fonts to fit in everything you need.

4. Adding extra dimensions to a letterhead – If all the adjustment techniques above failed and you still need to fit more things in your color letterhead, you should try to consider adding extra dimensions to it. Do not worry, it is easy to set things in your software for a larger header or letterhead area. Just look for its dimension properties and you should have no trouble. That extra space should then easily help you with your problem of extra content.

Great! Hopefully these tips can help you a lot in adjusting your layout for letterhead printing. You should be able to print everything you want for your color letterheads now. Good Luck!
